Wednesday, 20th,—Down to Hughes, got my horse shod, came back, and nine of us started. Came up near Epperson Springs, found the Yanks were there and at Scottsville too strong for us. Got supper at Stinson’s, a regular tory. Lamb swapped horses with him. Then started for New Row. Came across to Bracken’s, got breakfast, three of the boys had left us.
